Great batting tee!By Clearpoint on Amazon
This tee is really sturdy and can take a beating that would easily destroy a rubber tee. I have used it with baseballs, softballs, and weighted training balls. Works great with all. The fact that you can take it apart and easily transport it in a backpack or bat bag is an added plus.
Great Tee for YouthBy jennifer on Amazon
We picked up this tee for our travel baseball team and while it was more expensive than the traditional tees that last a year, the performance is worth it. The top offers a much better ability to judge quality contact. Amazing how much better this is than the 'old school' tees i've been using.
As an added youth coach benefit...with the 6 inches or so of rolled plastic as a top, I don't constantly have to reset the tee if any of the boys swing a bit low on the ball.
I would suggest the small tee for youth, I thought I could get by with the large but it was way too tall. However, Tanner provided great customer service when I wanted to exchange and had a new shorter stem shipped out within the day.
Best Batting Tee & Great Family BusinessBy Matt W Amazon
I've been in baseball my whole life and this is certainly the best batting tee and hitting tool I have ever seen or used. I have a Tanner Tee from well over 10 years ago (after a beating it is still in fine working order) and wanted to pick up the smaller version for my son and daughter whom I now coach in tee ball and little league.
We decided to stop by the Tanner Tees facility, while visiting my parents on vacation in Sarasota, to pick up the tee. I was amazed at the level of production this family business is at. We met the family and had the unique pleasure of speaking to Joe Tanner himself (got to hear some great stories about his time playing and coaching in the Major Leagues) and my son hit a few balls off the tees while receiving some tips. This is a great product and an even better family business!
The tee is durable and really makes teaching my son the fundamentals of baseball easier than any of those bulky rubber ones. They are truly used by all of the best professionals and their price and quality is much much better than some of these knockoffs out there.

I know what you're thinking. "Why buy a tee for $80+ when I could get so and so's tee for way cheaper.". True, you can get a cheaper tee but you'll replace it again and again. Why do that when you can buy a Tanner once and it will outlast your kids baseball carreer. And that's assuming he makes it to the majors!
I bought this tee last summer and it is still like new. We have used it, abused it, taken it to every game, every practice, and it's still like new. Big picture is that you'll get your money's worth out of this tee and then some. Just ask anyone who owns one.
Yes, this is the best there isBy danngoldencollum on Amazon
We have 5 kids playing baseball and I'm managing/coaching two teams a season, so we're rough on some of the practice equipment. This tee gets used at least 5 days a week with hundreds of balls launched from it's rubber ball holder. The entire design was obviously created for exceptional durability, as well as one of the best ball placements for any tee. The rubber rolled cone that holds the ball has "give" to it when the ball is hit, but, if the ball is not hit squarely on the sweet spot of the bat, the ball trajectory feedback is instantaneous - it's the closest I've seen to feedback of a live pitched ball.
You may look at the base of the tee and say "that's a pretty small base." But, that's also a great part of the design of this tee. If the player is constantly knocking the tee over, then they're not squaring up to the ball correctly - another instant feedback feature of this tee. If the player is hitting correctly, the tee by itself will stay upright. One reviewer mentions using a barbell weight to help keep the tee upright. It's a good suggestion if you're practicing with kids who are just starting to learn how to hit the baseball, or early spring when your team is rusty. But, once they start "getting it," I'd suggest not using the weight to gain the feedback on squarely hit balls.
The other great feature of this tee is the shaft. The fiberglass top shaft has some flexibility, and the steel tube lower adjustable shaft will last a long time. There's a lot of up/down adjustment, so the player can practice hitting at the knees to those higher shoulder pitches.
Finally, the rubberized base is thick, made to last a long time.
We have one of these tees now, and I'll be picking up two more for practice hitting stations for team use.
Consistent, Easy breakdown, Low dragBy Coach Bush on Hitting World
I am a high school fastpitch coach and we use this tee every day. It is the cornerstone in our way of making a consistent swing. The tanner tee small is perfect for fastpitch. It is high enough to simulate a high pitch but low enough for them work on the harder to reach low outside pitches. Love that it breaks down so small so we can carry it to every away game.
Wish I bought soonerBy Coach Carl on Hitting World
This has been and still is the best tee I have ever used. I coach a travel baseball team and we use is every practice and before games. I have been through alot of the other rubber made tees and wish I bought this one first, because it is lasting. Great tee, can not say anough about it.
You get what you pay for.By Johnny Paz on TannerTees.com
Never more true than with a tanner T. I made the mistake of buying a cheaper T (3 of them actually) because the price of the tanner just seemed outrageous. Well the replacement tops for the cheaper tees are $7 each and they brake almost daily. I coach a 10-U fast pitch softball team and the girls misshit the ball often, it is rare when I can go a full practice without a tee too braking. I finally decided to cut my losses and invest (and I truly believe that's what it is) in a tanner tee. I believe the rolled up tee too on the tanner tee is a marvelous idea that makes it so durable. The tee is sturdy and very compact. The telescopic arm is very solid and it won't move from where you set it. You can unscrew the tee from the base and it fits right under your car seat. Overall a great investment.
Very well made, solid, and portableBy Anonymous on TannerTees.com
Bought 6 Tees for team. Excellent product. Well made. Quality materials. Durable. Holds up to many seasons of HS ball players.

Yes, let's get it out of the way, you can go buy an all-rubber tee for less money. And then it's going to start to break down, right where the stem attaches to the base - it'll start to lean to where you're hard-pressed to keep a ball balanced on it, and then it'll break.
This is not that tee. The Tanner tee is rock solid, so you can focus on what you want to - hitting. I can't say enough about how helpful this is for a youth softball team who, let's be fair, are going to beat the heck out of a tee. This is the tee you want if you have a bunch of enthusiastic seven year olds, and want to still be using the same tee after several seasons instead of buying a cheap one over and over.
